A banking-focused bundle
World says the offering is available to banks and financial institutions seeking to enable AI-safe experiences across internal and customer-facing systems, including interactions with AI agents.[2] The banking and finance bundle includes the World ID app, World ID for Agents and World ID for Zoom.[2] Depending on the use case, verification can address whether someone is a unique human, is present at that moment, or has a requested attribute such as age or nationality.[2] The announcement did not name a bank using the product or provide pricing.[1]
Different proofs for different checks
World describes Proof of Human as establishing that someone is a real, unique human through a one-time visit to an Orb.[2] Proof of Presence uses a phone liveness check, while Proof of Attributes reveals only the information requested.[2] World says institutions can use these proofs to verify a client or partner without collecting documents or storing other personally identifiable information.[2] The company also says institutions receive anonymous, decentralized cryptographic proofs and signals.[4] These are World’s descriptions of the system, not evidence in the announcement of a bank deployment.[1]
Use cases and limits
World says the proofs can support human-binding approvals for ACH and wire transfers.[2] Its World ID for Agents offering is intended to let an agent show it is acting at the behest of a real human without revealing that person’s private information.[2] AgentKit, World’s developer tools for agents to use World ID proofs, is currently in beta.[2] The banking product does not replace an institution’s responsibility for legal identity, eligibility, compliance or account ownership.[4] Teams assessing the suite should therefore distinguish identity signals from their existing regulatory and account-control checks.
Availability and early partners
World says its app is available in the App Store and Google Play across more than 150 countries, and that more than 18 million people hold a Proof of Human.[2] World named Bain Capital, OpenExchange, Outtake, Pantera Capital and VanEck Funds as initial design partners.[2] World ID for Zoom is generally available following a limited beta that began in April, and is offered to Zoom enterprise customers globally through the Zoom Marketplace.[1][3] World says an authenticated participant gets a Human Badge on their Zoom tile and Zoom receives no personal information during verification.[2]
Financial teams evaluating identity tools can assess whether cryptographic proofs fit particular customer, employee or agent workflows while keeping their existing compliance and account-ownership controls in place. The announcement describes possible uses, but does not identify a bank deployment or disclose pricing.
