One plan combines four services
SpaceXSI describes The X Subscription as a combination of Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor and X Premium.[1] Grok supports chat, voice, and image and video generation, while Grok Bot is described as providing AI teammates.[1] Cursor provides local and cloud coding agents.[1] X benefits include a checkmark, creator tools and fewer ads; higher tiers remove timeline ads entirely.[1] SpaceXSI says it would make the subscription available globally over the following few days.[1]
Five tiers have different prices and allowances
The Free plan costs $0 and includes daily Grok access, a starter allowance for Cursor coding agents and standard X.[1] Plus costs $8 per month and adds more AI usage in Grok and Cursor, an X checkmark, creator tools and fewer ads.[1] Premium costs $30 per month and combines benefits of SuperGrok, Cursor Pro and X Premium+, which previously cost $90 per month together.[1] Super costs $100 and includes 15 times the Plus usage; Ultra costs $200 and includes 50 times the Plus usage.[1]
Switching is optional, but permanent
Existing SuperGrok, Cursor and X Premium subscribers are being offered the option to switch, and SpaceXSI says current subscribers can keep their plan or switch with a prorated refund for the old plan.[1] The option will appear in account billing settings when it becomes available to each subscriber.[1] Cursor’s documentation says subscribers’ existing plan, price and features remain unchanged unless they switch or cancel.[2] It also says switching is permanent and cannot be undone, including by Support.[2] Eligible Cursor and Grok accounts can be combined under one subscription, workspace and bill; a connected personal X account receives X benefits.[2]
Check usage and billing before changing
Paid plans include a shared pool of Grok model usage for Grok and Cursor, and Cursor says that pool is shared weekly.[1][2] SpaceXSI says each comparable new tier offers more usage per dollar than the plan it replaces, and each X Subscription plan includes at least twice the coding usage with its models as the comparable Cursor plan.[1] Cursor still offers third-party models on Premium and higher X Subscription plans, but their usage is billed separately at API list prices through top-ups.[1] Cursor’s documentation says those models are billed at API list prices from first use and paid from prepaid credit.[2]
For teams weighing a switch, the headline price is only part of the decision: included usage is shared across Grok and Cursor, while third-party model use has separate charges. Check which accounts and services are eligible, and weigh the permanent switch against the existing plan’s terms.
