A combined workspace and app stack

Oracle says AI Workspace is designed to combine OpenAI models with Oracle applications, enterprise data and cloud services in one experience.[2] The company says it can connect Fusion Applications, NetSuite, Oracle AI Database and OCI, as well as other enterprise tools and data sources.[2] Oracle says employees can use it to access information, complete approved business workflows and take action alongside Oracle systems.[2] The company says the workspace will retain the governance, approvals and controls required for enterprise operations.[2] Its stated aims include helping people work across systems and build and deploy applications.[2]

Tools for development and security

Oracle says users can build applications with Codex while Oracle manages their deployment and operations on OCI.[2] App Composer connects applications to approved Oracle data and workflows, and can provide access to OCI services including Kubernetes Engine and Autonomous AI Database.[2] Oracle describes APEXlang as enabling generative development without opaque application code that is difficult to maintain.[2] For security, Oracle AI Security Mesh is a managed service that uses OpenAI cyber models to help find and fix vulnerabilities across OCI, other clouds and on-premises environments.[2] Oracle says customers set the authorized testing scope, while Oracle manages safeguards intended to reduce outage or business-disruption risks.[2]

More compute, with 2027 timelines

Oracle and Google said Google TPUs will be offered through OCI, which Oracle describes as the first time Google TPUs will be available on a hyperscale cloud outside Google.[3] Oracle says OCI will provide the power, cooling and data-center networking needed to deploy them at scale.[3] Availability is planned for calendar year 2027, with deployment ramping over multiple years.[3] Google’s eighth-generation portfolio includes TPU 8t for training and TPU 8i for inference; Google says TPU 8t delivers nearly three times the compute performance per pod of the previous generation.[3] Cerebras and Oracle also plan to offer Cerebras Inference on OCI in 2027.[4] CNBC reported that Cerebras shares rose about 8% and Oracle shares nearly 5% on Tuesday after the news.[1]

A small-business entry point

Oracle’s AI SMB Bundle is a free-to-start offer providing small businesses $12,000 in Oracle cloud credits each year.[2] Oracle says the bundle includes ChatGPT Business, Oracle AI Workspace, Codex, App Composer and OCI.[2] It also includes NetSuite QuickStart, which Oracle says provides a foundation for managing operations such as invoicing and cash flow.[2] The bundle packages several of the announced tools together, while Google TPUs on OCI and Cerebras Inference on OCI are both planned for calendar year 2027.[2][3][4]

For teams evaluating enterprise AI, the announcement combines workflow, application development and security tools with a broader set of planned OCI compute options. The stated availability dates and governance provisions are relevant considerations for teams assessing the announcement.
