An agent built to act

Meta says users can interact with Muse in its app or through WhatsApp in a messaging-style interface.[1] Powered by Muse Spark, which Meta describes as its most capable model to date, Muse can open a browser, fill out forms and negotiate on a user’s behalf.[1] Meta says Muse can keep working after the app is closed, then return when something changes or it needs approval.[1] It can also remember details users have shared and use them to make suggestions without being prompted.[1] These features make the product more than a conversational assistant, while leaving users involved in decisions that require approval.[1]

Controls and data boundaries

Meta says Muse runs on Muse Secure VM, a dedicated virtual machine that houses the agent and a person’s data.[1] Sentinel must approve Muse’s internet access, and Muse asks the person for permission when needed.[1] Users choose which apps Muse connects to and how much access it receives, and they can opt out of having interactions used to train Meta’s AI models.[1] Meta also says Muse conversations and virtual-machine data are not shared with its advertising systems.[1] Meta said it would introduce Muse Confidential VM later in 2026, with encryption keys held only by users so Meta could not access the data and conversations.[1]

Rollout and business use

Meta says Muse is rolling out in the United States on iOS, Android and muse.ai, with availability on AI glasses planned for later.[1] It will be free for most needs, with subscription plans for people who want to do more.[1] For small businesses, Meta says Muse can connect with services including Asana, Box, Canva, QuickBooks, Shopify, Slack, Stripe and Zoom.[2] Meta says the business agent can understand what a business sells, its brand voice and recurring customer questions, but will not publish, send or spend without the user’s approval.[2] Meta also cited a payroll example in which Muse added up photographed employee time cards, cutting at least 15 minutes from payroll.[2]

Early uptake and market expectations

Foreign Policy Journal, citing Apptopia, reported that Meta reached 1.1 million installs roughly 10 days after launch, surpassing a record set by ChatGPT’s 2022 debut.[3] The publication also reported that Muse reached the number-one position on Apple’s App Store and Google Play within days of launch.[3] Internal data reviewed by The Information showed more than 3 million weekly users who sent at least one prompt and more than 1 million daily users.[5] CNBC reported that Wells Fargo raised its Meta price target to $1,000 from $796, implying nearly 35% upside from Monday’s close, and reiterated its Overweight rating.[4] The firm saw potential AI-related revenue from 2028 onward; the reported usage figures and analyst outlook are distinct measures.[4][5]

For professionals, Muse’s appeal will depend on whether delegated tasks save effort without weakening control over connected apps, data and approvals. The launch offers a concrete way to assess those trade-offs, while early usage and analyst expectations should be treated as separate signals.
