Honeywell launches Forge Cognition for building and industrial operations
Honeywell Technologies introduced Forge Cognition on October 14, 2026, describing it as a self-contained agentic AI and simulation platform for facility operations. The company says it developed the platform with technology from NVIDIA and Dell Technologies for buildings, campuses and industrial operations.

Key takeaways · 3
- 01
The platform connects to existing customer deployments and adds AI capabilities to Honeywell solutions, the company says.
- 02
Operators can choose manual, semi-autonomous or autonomous operation and override the system at any time, Honeywell says; Fortune reported autonomous operation had not been opened up at that time.
- 03
At Voyager, Honeywell identified potential energy and utility reductions of up to 10%; this is potential, not realized savings.
A platform built around facility data
Honeywell says Forge Cognition combines real-time digital twins and AI agents so operators can assess facility conditions, simulate scenarios and coordinate actions across supported systems.[1] The platform combines Honeywell’s domain expertise with assets and systems data organized in a structured knowledge base.[1] Its stated aims include improving asset reliability, energy efficiency and operational performance.[1]
Alarm triage, maintenance and operator control
Honeywell says Forge Cognition can classify and verify building-management alarms, helping operators prioritize events and reduce false positives.[1] AI agents can also analyze real-time HVAC data to identify emerging equipment issues and guide maintenance before disruptions occur, according to the company.[1] Honeywell says NVIDIA Nemotron open models power agents that interpret operational data, including an alarm-classification agent that can improve through operator feedback.[1] Customers can choose manual, semi-autonomous or autonomous operation and override the system at any time, Honeywell says.[1]
Pilots show potential, not proven savings
At Voyager, Honeywell identified potential reductions of up to 10% in energy and utility consumption; Fortune also reported that this figure represented identified potential savings, not savings already achieved.[1][2] Honeywell says the pilot maintained a comfort score above 95%, calculated as a weighted average of temperature, humidity and CO2 measurements across zones.[1] Fortune reported a 90-day target for Honeywell and NVIDIA to show results at Voyager, a roughly 750,000-square-foot building.[2]
Infrastructure and deployment path
NVIDIA Omniverse libraries support physically accurate simulations for modeling building performance and testing operational changes, Honeywell says.[1] Dell provides infrastructure for Forge Cognition, including PowerEdge XE servers and data and storage engines, according to Honeywell.[1] Honeywell says its installed base spans more than 300,000 sites, and customers can engage with the company now to identify and scope deployments as capabilities expand over time.[1] Separately, Honeywell describes its Forge Cognition-powered EBI One platform as connecting building management, fire and life safety, security and third-party systems in one operational environment, designed to support up to one million points.[3]
For facility and operations teams, the announcement points to a way to test operational changes and prioritize alerts while retaining human control. The pilot figures are useful signals, but teams evaluating deployment should distinguish identified potential savings from measured results and clarify which operating modes are actually available.
