Context is the stated product goal

Harvey said the acquisition would accelerate work helping each firm build its own ontology, which it described as providing critical context.[1] It also said Aida’s search and machine-learning expertise would complement work across Harvey’s product surface.[4] Aida was founded on the belief that AI could understand work context, connect information across fragmented systems and turn knowledge into action.[1] Harvey says legal teams hold valuable knowledge in documents and systems that can be difficult to search and connect.[1] Harvey said securely unlocking that knowledge would fundamentally change how legal teams work.[1]

Part of a broader acquisition year

Aida is Harvey’s fifth acquisition of 2026.[4] Before the Aida deal, Harvey acquired Guardrails AI in September and Benchmark in July; its earlier acquisitions also included Lume AI and Hexus.[2] The financial terms of the Aida acquisition were not disclosed.[2] Harvey raised $550 million at a $15.5 billion valuation in September.[2] Rival Legora also completed five acquisitions in 2026.[2]

For legal technology and product teams, Harvey said the deal would accelerate work helping firms build their own ontologies, providing critical context. Harvey has also said legal teams hold valuable knowledge in documents and systems that are difficult to search and connect.
