Gemini Adds Connected Apps for Work, Creativity and Daily Tasks

Google began rolling out a new wave of Connected Apps for Gemini on September 23, 2026, allowing users to bring outside tools into Gemini instead of switching between tabs. The breadth of this rollout positions Gemini as a common access point for productivity, creative and lifestyle services rather than a chat interface isolated from other tools. Offering settings-based connections alongside @ mentions and direct requests gives users multiple ways to incorporate those services into conversations. The practical test will be how smoothly each connection handles the tasks assigned to it.
