Joining Meta, with plans still undisclosed

Conductor announced that it is joining Meta.[1] TechCrunch reported that Meta acquired the company and said Meta confirmed the acquisition to the publication.[2] The financial terms were not disclosed.[4] Conductor says something new will be available early next year, but it cannot yet share much about what it plans to build.[1] Axios framed the move within a broader race among AI companies to own developer tools as coding becomes a path to AI adoption and enterprise spending.[4]

Cloud access ends in November

Conductor Cloud becomes read-only on November 13 and shuts down on November 20.[3] Conductor says existing free users can no longer upgrade to Pro, while current Pro users can keep Pro features for free.[1] Active subscribers will receive refunds, according to Conductor.[1] The company provides a command to transfer Cloud workspaces and chats to a Mac, as well as an account-settings option to export an archive of user data.[1] Users who need their work should plan a transfer or export before the shutdown.

Local app continues for now

Conductor says its local Mac app will continue receiving new models and critical bug fixes until early 2027.[1] The company says it will delete all Conductor user data when the app shuts down in early 2027.[1] It also says it will begin deleting Conductor Cloud user data, without specifying in the cited notice when that process begins.[1] Conductor says it has never sold or trained on user data and will maintain that policy.[1] The company does not yet describe what will follow the app or Cloud service.

What developers are losing

Conductor’s product lets developers run multiple AI coding agents in parallel.[4] Its original Mac app created isolated copies of a codebase for agents and let users review and merge their work.[5] Conductor says it supports Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and OpenCode agents.[5] TechCrunch reported that agents could be deployed in the cloud, locally or through a user’s phone, and that the agents came from major AI labs rather than being developed in-house.[2] Conductor says more than 100,000 builders trust its product.[5]

Teams using Conductor Cloud need to plan for the November cutoff and decide whether to transfer work, export an archive, or both. The local app’s stated support window gives developers a separate near-term option, but Conductor has not yet detailed its next product plans.
