Anthropic Merges Claude Features and Launches Document Tools to Target Enterprise Users

Anthropic said on Wednesday it is combining the chat and Cowork features of its Claude AI assistant into a single interface. [1] The company will also integrate its visual work tool, Claude Design, into the main interface. Claude will now automatically determine and deploy the capabilities required for a task so users no longer need to switch between different tools. [1] The company is also introducing Claude Docs and Claude Slides in beta, which allow users to create and export documents to Google Docs or Microsoft Word, and presentations to PowerPoint or PDF files. [2] The update is rolling out first to Pro and Max subscription plans on web, desktop and mobile over the coming weeks, and later to Team and Free plans. [3]

By eliminating the friction of manual tool selection, Anthropic is positioning Claude as a more seamless productivity suite for non-coders and enterprise clients. This interface consolidation directly mirrors OpenAI’s strategy with its July release of ChatGPT Work, which similarly merged a chatbot with the Codex coding tool. As both IPO-bound companies vie for enterprise market share, workflow integrations and automatic capability deployment are becoming the baseline standard.
