Anthropic adds monthly API credits to Max and Team

Anthropic says Max 5x subscribers receive $100 in API credits each month, and Max 20x users receive $200.[1] Team subscribers receive up to $500 in monthly credits pooled across users.[1] Anthropic says the credits are meant to support building tools, apps and agents that call its API, and they can be used on any of its models.[1] Its support materials specify that credits apply to the Claude API in Claude Console and cannot be used on other platforms.[2]

Anthropic sets the monthly Team credit rate at $20 per Standard seat and $100 per Premium seat.[2] The credits go into one shared monthly balance, capped at $500, and the pool is calculated from the seats on the plan when credits are granted.[2][3] Discounted Team plans for nonprofits and scientists receive the same per-seat credit rates as other Team plans.[2] Because the balance is pooled, API-key users in the linked organization draw from the same credits.[3]

The offer is available to Max and Team subscribers, including discounted Team subscribers, but not to Free, Pro or Enterprise subscribers.[3] Subscribers claim credits by linking a Claude Console organization to their plan; each plan can link to only one organization, and each organization can receive credits from only one plan.[3] New subscribers can claim after seven days on an eligible plan.[3] Credits arrive shortly after plan payment, with annual subscribers receiving them monthly, and a payment method on Claude Platform is not required to claim or use them.[3]

Anthropic said it was rolling out the offer over several days, so some eligible subscribers might not see it immediately.[3] Unused credits expire at the end of the billing cycle and do not roll over; included credits are spent before purchased credits.[3] The credits do not change usage limits for Claude, Claude Code or Claude Cowork.[3] When the balance is exhausted and the organization has no other credits, API requests stop, and usage is not charged to the Claude plan.[3] Organizations invoiced through Anthropic’s sales team are billed as usual for usage beyond the credits.[3]
